eSASS naming convention changes
At the eSASS telecon of 5-Feb-2018 we decided to implement the following eSASS naming convention changes:
- The contents of the INSTRUME and INSTRUMn standard eSASS FITS header keywords will be changed from FM1...FM7 to TM1...TM7, where TM stands for "Telescope Module'.
- The new INSTRUME/INSTRUMn keywords will be implemeted in the caldb as follows:
- The contents of the data/erosita/fm1...fm7 directories will be duplicated to directories data/erosita/tm1...tm7 and the new directories will be added to the caldb.config file.
- In the standard calibration file names in the new directory tree fm1...fm7 will be replaced with tm1...tm7.
- The content of the INSTRUME keyword in the calibration file headers will be changed from FM1...FM7 to TM1...TM7.
- The udcif command will be run to integrate the new calibration files into the caldb.indx files.
- After the changeover to the new INSTRUME/INSTRUMn keywords is completed, the FM1...FM7 instruments can be removed from the caldb.
- The CCDNR column of the EVENTS extensions of the calibrated event files will be renamed to TM_NR.
- The CCDNR column of the ERMLDET source lists will be renamed to TM_NR.
Ideally the changes should be implement and tested in the next weeks, in time for the new eSASS users release planned for March 2018, which will be made available ahead of the upcoming consortium meeting. The required changes will be minor but a large number of eSASS tasks as well as the preprocessor will be affected. The following table is intended to track the times when each change is implemented. Please fill in the dates and any comments for your tasks. Also, the list may not be complete, please add missing tasks as needed.
