Mail services at MPE provide IMAP and SMTP access as well as a [[https://webmail.mpe.mpg.de|WebMail]] interface.

=== Using mail facility: The basics ===

There are several ways to use mail facility:

 * Point your web-browser to the [[https://webmail.mpe.mpg.de|WebMail]] interface and log in using your userid and password

 * Configure your favorite mail client using the following information: (userid and password required)

   * Incoming Server (IMAP): imaps.mpe.mpg.de port 993 with SSL
   * Outgoing Server (SMTP): ssmtp.mpe.mpg.de port 587 with STARTTLS
 
Furthermore use the [[https://mail.mpe.mpg.de/tpl|MPE Mail Database]] to adjust your personal settings and get further information like MPE phone book with member pictures (only with userid, password).
