Eduroam einrichten

  • Bitte die Anleitung eduroam_setup.pdf beachten und die Anleitungs-Schritte für Notebooks (Seite 1) oder Smartphones (Seite 2) ausführen.

  • Kurze Zusammenfassung

    • https://cat.eduroam.de aufrufen

    • Das MPE als Heim-Institut auswählen
    • Den vorgeschlagenen Installer (je nach Betriebssystem) herunterladen
    • Den Installer ausführen (Windows: als Administrator ausführen (rechte Maustaste)):

      • Username: <username>@mpe.mpg.de

      • Password: <normales-Email-Passwort>

  • Alte Konfiguration entfernen

    • Möchte man z.B. von einem MPCDF- auf einen MPE-Account wechseln, reicht es nicht, nur einzelne Angaben abzuändern. Das Zertifikat muss ebenfalls aktualisiert werden.

    • Am besten entfernt man die Konfiguration eduroam auf dem Gerät komplett (je nach Betriebssystem mit Rechtsklick entfernen oder löschen), so dass das Gerät sich nicht mehr mit eduroam verbinden kann.

    • Danach eduroam wie oben beschrieben neu installieren

  • Manuelle Installation (nicht empfohlen)

    • Für den Fall, dass der oben beschriebene Installations-Weg nicht funktioniert (z.B. Android älter als v4.3) kann man das Eduroam-Profil auch manuell installieren.

Setting up Eduroam

  • Please have a look at the instruction manual eduroam_setup.pdf and follow the instructions for notebooks (page 1) or smartphones (page 2).

  • Brief summary

    • Go to https://cat.eduroam.de

    • Choose the MPE aus your institute.
    • Download the installer proposed, depending on your operating system
    • Execute the installer (Windows: run as administrator (right mouse click)):

      • Username: <username>@mpe.mpg.de

      • Password: <your-email-password>

  • Remove old configuration

    • If one would like to change from e.g. a MPCDF- to a MPE-account, it isn't sufficient to just alter some single values. The certificate has as well to be updated.

    • Best remove the eduroam configuration on your device completely (depending on your operating system do e.g. a right-click remove or delete), so that the device can't connect to eduroam anymore.

    • Afterwards install eduroam as described above.

  • Manual installation (not recommended)

    • In case the way described above doesn't work (e.g. Android older than v4.3) one can as well install the eduroam profile manually.
