System clock

>:> Is running aprox. twice as fast as my watch ???!!!??? >:>

Booting with the "noapic" options corrects the clock but then the Bluetooth controller is not working anymore. Other boot options:

  • no_timer_check : doesn't change anything
  • disableapic : doesn't boot anymore
  • nolapic : doesn't boot anymore
  • noapictimer : doesn't boot anymore

Hoped the following kernel security update will fix the problem, but it looks like the kernel version 2.6.11 has a general problem with this processor and with this chip set.

Installing YOU patches

  • select all security updates
  • select Multimeda Option Pack 1-4
  • reboot
  • using yast2 select following packages (in addition accept to resolve dependencies from previous update)
    • kernel-source
    • kernel-syms
    • gcc
    • gcc-c++
    • gcc-info
    • gcc-java
    • gcc-locale
    • automake
    • bison
    • Xdialog
  • start YOU again
    • accept kernel update
  • reboot
